Sorry for the lack of real posts lately. I've been a slacker. So I guess it's about time to give an update on what's been going on in my life the past couple of weeks..
School is going well. I really struggle with staying focused and on top of things. I guess it's just hard when I don't love accounting so my classes are pretty boring. But I don't want to switch majors and be in school longer than needed and I don't want to be a quitter. So for now I'm going to just try my hardest to really understand accounting and maybe I'll learn to love it. After all, I do like parts of it, even if those parts are small compared to everything else.
My favorite class has got to be my institute class. And I'm not just saying that to be some good little girl trying to win points with people. I really truly LOVE it! It is the one class that doesn't go long enough and that I never want to be over. I never find myself looking at the clock wondering when it'll be over because I'm bored and want to go home. The class is Gospel Doctrines and my teacher is sooo good at helping me understand things in a different way. He goes into depth of things I already know but adds a twist that I had never thought of before allowing things to make a whole lot more sense. He also adds a little bit of humor which always makes learning more interesting and fun. :)
I go home pretty much every weekend. I either have mowing to do or family stuff going on. But that's no surprise. I'm known for going home all the time. This last weekend I had a family reunion which was a lot of fun. I always love family reunions. It was a little sad because there weren't as many people there as last year and I was actually able to enjoy myself this year. Last year I had chubby cheeks and was in pain. But oh well. The other sad part about the weekend is that my two closest cousins and I realized this reunion was the last family thing that we'd all be together and single. My cousin Stacey is going on a mission in December and my cousin Camille will most likely get married during that 18 months. Kinda makes me think what I should/will be doing in that time.. but obviously aside from those two points, I had a blast! No matter which family members are present, I always have a good time.
Boys are pretty much non-existent in my life right now which I'm fine with. (Meaning boys with potential dating material). I've gone on one date since being up here and was bored out of my mind. Funny thing is, I don't think my date nor the couple we doubled with had any idea. I'm pretty sure they thought I was having a great time. Guess I'm good at faking it so I didn't hurt any feelings.
I've made some pretty great new friends- even though I go home on weekends. Rylee's roommates are way fun to hang out with. It's a big change from her roommates last year who didn't like us so much. I've met some good friends in my classes too even if they are guys who just happen to all be from Brigham City. I'm definitely the outsider which they like to point out a lot. Obviously in a joking way otherwise I wouldn't call them my friends. But they're funny and definitely very helpful when it comes to doing homework :)
I'm still on search of a job. No luck yet. I don't want to go back to donating plasma but it's looking more and more like my best option. If I still don't have a job when lawn mowing finally ends then I'll have to donate to keep a flow of cash coming in. I really can't wait until I'm done with school and will have an actual job. Then I might actually be able to enjoy having money instead of watching it disappear towards tuition or books as soon as I get it.
Mmk, I think that's a good summary of what I've been up to lately. I don't want to go on too long and bore any who might actually read this.. :)
