April Fools Day has got to be one of my favorite days of the year. I quite enjoy pulling pranks on people. My favorite prank that I ALWAYS did growing up was I would put tape on the sprayer by the sink so when someone would turn on the faucet they would get sprayed with water. Well one year my mom decided she was going to get me before I got anyone- so she put tape on it. It didn't work. I had no idea of this plan because there wasn't any tape when I got there. A little while later my dad walked into the kitchen and turned on the sink and got sprayed. I started laughing and then realized what he was saying- he was complaining that this had already happened to him and he just went and changed his shirt! I was confused until my mom came in and told us she was trying to get me. But sadly for my dad- he got both.
In second grade I wore a fake cast to school. I fooled everybody. I made up some story of what happened and it was awesome. It was even on my right hand so I had a challenge with writing. I sadly made the mistake of telling someone it was fake because after a while she blurted it out to the whole class and my joke was over.
I think last year has so far been the best year for pranks. My roommates and I had a little war with a neighboring apartment of boys. We always pulled pranks on them. So of course we knew the day FOR pranks would have to be epic. We had made a plan to open their window so that during the night we could sneak in the apartment. That ended up not being necessary because when we got there the door was cracked open. But once we were in, we headed straight to work. We pulled all the labels off of their canned food, we took all their freezer food and hid them outside in the snow leaving a map for them to find it, we crushed up life savers and put them in their shower head, we put raisins in their toothpaste, we poured some Worcestershire sauce in someones shampoo, we put a propel packet in someone's milk that was almost gone, and we hid an annoyingly loud alarm clock set to go off around 4 in the morning. Now I know some of those things sound very mean to do- but we made sure we didn't ruin too many things. Like with the milk and shampoo, they were both close to being gone so it wasn't ruining an entire gallon or bottle. So we weren't totally inconsiderate. It was pretty epic though. AND as much as they said they were going to get us back- it never happened.
Now this year I wanted to top last year making it even better and so my idea was going to send all my missionary friends fake engagements. That plan failed though. When I started dating Landon I figured it could come true soon so it wouldn't be too big of a prank. Now that we broke up it would've worked out perfect because they all knew I was dating someone so it would seem real- except that I messed it up by telling them we broke up. So now I don't have any big pranks to pull and considering I'll be spending half the day driving and then the rest of the day at Lake Powell on a houseboat- pranks this year seem like a no go.
I may just have to start planning for next year.
