I need help

I've realized this past week how anti-social I am.
Ok, so it's more that I'm just too shy to make any friends so as a result I have Rylee, her roommates, and pretty much no one else to hang out with. I tried to change that and went to my ward prayer and FHE last week but never got up the courage to just go up to people and meet them.
I just can't do it.
It probably doesn't help with the fact that I'm just a super awkward person. I think I can make any normal situation awkward just cause that's what I do best.

Why do I have to ramble on about nothing making a fool of myself when I'm nervous and trying to make a situation not awkward when it's really my rambling that makes it awkward??
Ugh.

I guess I'm a work in progress though. I'm going again to ward prayer tonight but I'll be going alone this time because last time I dragged Rylee along with me which was nice to have someone I knew but also might've made it worse because it didn't force me to talk to someone new. So hopefully I'll have more success..

But putting aside my problem of being socially awkward, life is good. I am super happy.
And there isn't any particular reason.
I'm just happy.

Busy as a Bee

Wow. Two weeks into the semester and I'm the busiest I've ever been in college. But that's due to my job, which I love, so I'm not complaining. I like being busy. It makes me feel good about myself and that I'm actually useful for things instead of sitting in my room playing on my computer and/or watching countless hours of TV shows (which I do still find the time to keep up with the many shows I do watch, but I've cut back on the old shows that I've already seen every episode of). But now I wake up, go to school, go to work, come home do homework, and go to sleep. Every day. It's a good routine to be in because I actually get things done. I stay on top of things. I already feel like a better student.
Man I should've gotten a job long ago!
So you can now see why it has been almost two weeks since I last posted. So here is a brief update of my life during the past two weeks..

Classes are going good so far. I'm still surviving in my 7:30 class. I actually like having an early class because then it makes me get to bed earlier and get a better nights sleep. But I could still do without the bitter cold. But all my classes don't seem like they'll be too hard if I just study enough.
I'm taking two institute classes this semester which means I finally have a class with Rylee! But I love having institute each day. It's a good reminder throughout the week. And it's always nice to take a break from all the crazy classes and have a class that doesn't involve the stress of tests coming up.
Work is going good. Like I said earlier, I love it. It feels good to know that I'm making money so I can pay for things and start paying off all my debt school has put me in. It's a very laid back atmosphere which I like and the people I work with are great.
There were two Aggie basketball games this last week and I was able to go to both. It's been sad because last semester I only went to like three. I had already forgotten how much I love them. Seriously, they are totally worth waiting hours at the Spectrum to get a front row seat. Yes, I said hours. I was at the Spectrum at 2 yesterday when the game didn't start till 9 to get a front row seat. Don't worry though, I did homework while waiting so it's not like I wasted all that time. It's fun though. It's always a certain group of us that wait so it's fun to be with them and talk and hang out to pass the time. And then the game starts and it's a great full two hours of cheering and going crazy. I mean, tell me you wouldn't want to be a part of this crowd

Ah, I love it!

Oh and in case anyone was wondering, I'm pretty sure LA Tech's coach is actually Voldemort in disguise..

:) Go Aggies!

Hi Friends

As you may have guessed, winter break is over and I'm back up in Logan for yet another semester of school. I once again was not excited to come back. I had such a great break at home with my family and reconnecting with old friends that the thought of coming back to the bitter cold of Logan and having to do school was not fun. So when Sunday came and I had to pack and leave, I wasn't too happy. But I had to keep reminding myself that once I got to Logan, it wouldn't be bad.
I do like it up here. I just never like leaving home.

So I got back up here Sunday and unpacked after having some fun catching up with the Low family. The kids were super excited to show me everything they got for Christmas. After that, I made my way over to Rylee's apartment only to find out it was a house full of drama which isn't the greatest thing to come back to.
I don't like drama.
I can't stand it.
People overreact about the littlest things.
But I did still have a good time catching up with Rylee all night.

Monday came along and it was a good day. As good as the first day of classes can be. It was actually pretty boring. I only had two classes and then had nothing to do all day. But then Rylee and I did go to the gym! Amazing I know. It has been forever since I've gone. Not to mention the thousands of times I planned on going last semester but didn't. It felt sooo good too. We stretched and ran a little over 2 miles. It was sad to realize how out of shape I am though. But then we treated ourselves to free food from Chick-fil-A and then got Spoon Me. They didn't have mangoes though which are my favorite and I'd argue they are the best topping to have with their frozen yogurt. Their tastes just compliment each other.
Anyways, moving on..
We then just spent the rest of the night being lazy and watching some episodes of Supernatural before I left to go to bed.

Sooo Tuesday, or today, was a day I've been dreading ever since registration. I had my first 7:30 class. Normally you can avoid those the older you get. But I got unlucky. Well I guess I have been lucky so far so I should be glad about that. But anyways, it actually wasn't too bad. But I say that now since it's only been one day. I'm not sure I'll be as optimistic after a week or two though. But I just have to get used to going to bed earlier. I mean it shouldn't be hard to wake up at 6 when I woke up at 5:30 every other day in high school. So I could get used to the time, but I don't know if I can get used to freezing to death walking to class. That really is the worst part about it. I mean, I had to wait like 10 minutes for the bus to take me to campus.
Not cool.
(haha)

So my second first day of classes went well. They should be good classes.
But the best part about my day was that..

wait for it..

I GOT A JOB!!

Finally, after two and a half years of living in Logan, I got a job! I now don't have to sell my plasma for money! Although I still might on occasion just to earn that little bit of extra income. But I'll be doing a lot of invoicing and bank statement type stuff which is what I got used to over the summer with my family's business so it should be good. I'm excited.

So I'd say I'm pleased with the start of this semester. Hopefully it's a sign that this semester will be my best one yet!

Flash back to high school

I came down to my room tonight to find my sister trying on a prom dress and after she saw the very confused look on my face she told me that she will be going to Jr Prom at the beginning of February. I then proceeded to give her a little lecture on how some junior girls might hate her (or since hate is too strong of a word) be mad at her for going since she's actually a sophomore. And I say this from experience because I was one who was upset when guys didn't asked juniors.
Now before you judge me and think I'm some mean person getting mad when it shouldn't matter, I have to remind you (or make you aware of the fact) that Murray only lets juniors go to Jr Prom. It's not like everyone can go and only juniors promenade like other schools. It's only for juniors. So if you're a junior and all the junior boys are asking sophomores then you can imagine how sucky it would be to not go when you're actually allowed to go. And I might just have bitter feelings toward Jr Prom in general seeing as how I wasn't able to attend mine (but due to drill nationals competition, not because I didn't get asked). But I knew plenty of boys that didn't take juniors and as a result I had some friends that were free to go but couldn't because they weren't asked.

Can you tell I was frustrated back then if I still want to make the point about it now? haha

So anyways, after telling her all this, we sat down and looked at all my old dance pictures and tried on some dresses. It was pretty fun but it definitely reminded me of how glad I am that I'm done with high school and I don't have to deal with all the drama that goes on during that time!
I mean seriously.
College is WAY better!

Happy New Year

I can't believe how fast time flies. I can still remember a year ago writing a New Year's post and what I thought 2010 was going to bring me. It feels like it was just yesterday. But I'm glad it didn't turn out the way I had planned in my head because it turned out to be ten times better!
I loved 2010. It might just be my best year yet. Mostly because I think I learned a lot about who I am and what I want in life (and boys.. haha)

Some of the highlights:
* dying my hair
* lake powell. twice.
* trip to st. george
* turning 20
* being a nanny for my cousin
* hanging out with/meeting great friends over the summer
* dating lots
* two new nephews in the family
* friends coming home from missions
* hvz
* harry potter 7 part 1
* christmas with the whole fam

But I do have to add that I think I ended the year just perfectly. I spent New Years Eve day with my family building an igloo. I don't think you can really top that one. It was so much fun. I hadn't played in the snow like that for a long time.

This is the first igloo that my dad and brother made the day before. Jarem Chantell and I decided to go tag it for fun. It didn't really get the reaction we wanted (meaning practically no reaction at all) but it was still fun.

Chantell and I observing

The final product.

The next day when the whole fam built one:

This is me telling Jarem to get back to work.. haha

I got the job of stomping around the edge to pack the snow down.

We decided to take a break and rest in the first igloo.

Me and Sadie.

Can you not agree that that is one heck of an igloo! It's huge and sooo much better than the first one. We fit 11 people in it and could've fit a couple more. I wish I had my camera when we were all in it, but I didn't. I'll have to try and get pics from my siblings.

We at first wanted to build a snowman on top so it was a huge snowman igloo. But we decided it'd get too top heavy so this little one had to do :)

Pretty awesome though huh?
I bet you now wish you built one.
:)
Happy New Year Everyone!!
