Better.

Last night was kind of rough for me. I had a little bit of a meltdown. All the stresses of life hit me hard and I lost it. I just had too many thoughts and emotions going through my head along with many other things that I couldn't hold it in any longer. Now I'm in no sense depressed or anything, but it's how I like to cope with things. It always makes me feel better to just cry and let it all out through the tears.
Last night, once I pulled myself back together, I got out my scriptures and patriarchal blessing and just read and reminded myself what life is truly about. I find that I let myself get caught up in worldly things that I forget what is important. I hate to admit that it took a meltdown to bring me to my scriptures but seeing as I've recently been caught up in worldly things I haven't been the best with reading them.
So now you may be wondering why I am posting about all of this and it's not to point out to the world my weaknesses, which it is definitely doing, but because I have changed. A very stressful emotional night turned out to be such a great spiritual experience that I am now going to be better. Better with reading my scriptures. Better with keeping my priorities straight. Better with a more positive outlook on life and what I need to be doing with it. And just be a better person.
I guess you can call it my New Years resolution. I'm just a little bit late with it.

Praise long weekends

After the first week of a new semester, it's always good to have a nice long 3 day weekend. Ok, so really ANY time in a semester it's good to have a long weekend, but I throughly enjoyed this last one. Most of the time I never do too much but be lazy and sit in my room most of the day and then get to doing stuff at night with friends, but this weekend I was non stop having fun from the moment I woke up till I went to bed.

Friday was a good day. The day started with only one and a half classes for me out of the normal 3. One class was cancelled and I had to leave one class early because I was going to burst with so much water in me. Never drink 32+ ounces of water during a class when you don't have time between classes to go to the bathroom. It results in the persistent need of use of the bathroom making it so you can't concentrate on anything else. So after I couldn't take it anymore I left class early and then decided to just not go back and go donate plasma. This turned out to be great timing to meet Hanah and ended up being the fastest and most enjoyable days donating plasma which is saying a lot since the previous time was disastrous resulting in a bruised arm and getting stuck with the needle twice. So after making $35 in one hour, I was able to catch a ride to Murray so as to not drive my poor car too much. Once in Murray, Jay came to my house with me and ate dinner with my fam and waited for our Orem friends to meet up with us so we could drive back up to Ogden and see Dashboard. They took forever but eventually they came and we made our way to Ogden. After finding a parking spot which just happened to be on the grass, we made our way into the crowd at the concert. We tried to find a way into the middle where some friends were but it was impossible so we settled for a spot in the back where we pushed our way as far front as we could. Once Dashboard started playing, it was great fun. I wasn't too familiar with the songs, but no shock there since I'm not really familiar with too much music anyways, but it was still lots of fun. I did know the final song that was played which was once a favorite song of mine so that was fun to be able to sing along with at least one song.

The Chelsiea Sandwich

After the concert, we made our way to Arby's where we ate and hung out for a bit before heading over to our friend Antonio's house. The boys put on a little concert for us by singing and playing the guitar and then after a while we said goodbye and drove home. I then unfortunately was the only one not going back to Orem so I was dropped off in Murray to go to bed while the rest of the group continued the fun of the night by playing guitar hero and hanging out.

Saturday was then spent down in Orem with Landon and his family. I had woke up planning on just being lazy and watch some TV shows on the internet when I got a text inviting me to lunch with Landon's family for his little brother's birthday. So I had to quickly get ready, since of course I was still in my pajamas lying in bed, and drive down to Orem in order to meet his family in time. We went to Tucanos which is a Brazilian restaurant and it was very good! After lunch, Landon and I went back to his apartment and hung out for a while and watched episodes of The Office. What a great show :). Then later we joined back up with his family at Jump On It. I must say that place is very fun and entertaining. I've only been twice now and each time has been great. I now just need to get over my fear and learn/relearn some tricks. After that we just spent the rest of the night with his family which is always a good time. Thanks Larsen family!!

Sunday. Sunday's are always great days. I love them. I also love being home and going to my home ward. I think I'd much rather be at my home ward than at a singles ward. This Sunday was even better than most because my mom was able to finally join me in relief society! She just barely got released from a YW leader so we were able to, for the first time ever, sit with each other in relief society. Happy day. Once church was over my mom and I got busy making our traditional Sunday dinner: waffles and potatoes. Mmm so yummy. Landon came up and joined us for dinner and then stayed and hung out all night playing guitar hero for the majority of the time.

Monday I was able to drive down to Orem to hang out with Landon again for just a little bit before I had to head back up to Logan. We ended up looking at most of his mission pictures which was very cool. It was fun listening to him tell stories and see the excitement and joy in his eyes. But then it started to get late so we had to stop so I could leave and get back to Murray in time to catch my ride back to Logan. Ellen, my oldest best friend ever, was the one I rode up with and was probably very glad when we pulled up next to my car because I just talked way too much the entire ride. She was probably sick of listening to me ramble on about my life and the thoughts going through my head. But thanks for listening to me Ell. :)

So that was my weekend in a nut shell. Very busy and fun and I was sad for it to end. But now that I'm back in Logan, I've got to focus on school instead of still wishing it was the weekend.
Bummer.

Go Aggies!

I definitely have grown a love for Aggie basketball this year. I will admit that last year I never wanted to go to a game because I normally don't like watching basketball that much. It just wasn't that entertaining to me and I never got into it. The only exciting thing that happened at a game last year that I remember and talk about was my very first game when Big Blue kissed me. That was definitely something weird and not normal. But this year I made a total switch into becoming a huge fan! I end up going hours before the game even starts and wait in line to get front row seats! We have a lot of fun hanging out and playing games while waiting and then it pays off when we are front row and right in the action. I must say being in the front row really makes a difference in watching a basketball game. And it doesn't hurt that it ups the chances of being in a picture for the newspaper!

Monday nights game results: USU 98, Hawaii 54.
Way to go Aggies!!

Another Semester

Another semester begins.
Am I ready for it? No. Am I ever ready for school to start again? No.

It was weird driving back up to Logan yesterday. A month break really is a long time. I felt like I had been gone forever. I was sad to leave my family once again but it is a good thing I came back to a house with little kids super excited to see me. Turns out they've missed me lots and constantly asked when I was coming back so that definitely put a smile on my face. Oh the joy of little kids :)

I've only had two new classes so far and I'm excited for one but the other I can tell is going to be hard for me. We already had a test just to see what we know. Wanna bet how much I knew? ZERO. Oh boy. Good thing it's not counted towards our grade. Tomorrow will bring 3 more new classes to my life and once again only one is what I'm excited for and that would be my Big Band Swing class that Rylee and I are taking together. We decided a long time ago that we needed to take dance classes up here and we finally signed up for one. Even though it isn't the dancing we meant, it'll still be super fun!

Now besides classes, I need to go find me a job! Donating plasma has been a great easy way to earn some extra cash but I need something else that won't leave scars in my elbows from nice thick needles. I'm just not excited to have to search for a job. So stressful.

But even with the stress of new classes and having to find a job, it's good to be back in Logan and getting back to a busy life with school and friends instead of the lazy not so productive one I had over the break. The only problem I have with it is that it's two hours away from Orem. But I guess on the bright side it's better than the four hours from Vernal!

2010

Happy New Year!!

Well, even though I didn't get to spend New Years with the one person that I really wanted to spend it with, I still had a lot of fun with other people I love. I went to the U Institute and danced the night away! I ran into many people that I haven't seen in a very long time so it was good to catch up with them for a bit. But as always, there can't be a New Years spent with friends that doesn't have drama come along. This year it was mainly my cousin that had the drama. We thought that my situation wasn't fun until at the dance my cousin had an hour long insane breakup with a boyfriend she had for one day. Yeah, she definitely beat me with a sucky New Years. But at least we were able to laugh about it and have a good time afterwards anyways and it still turned out to be a good New Years!

I still can't believe another year is over with and a new one is beginning. I still remember last New Years and it doesn't seem like it was a whole year ago. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was with all my best friends from Olympus celebrating the New Year by watching the boys try to wrestle each other and now they are all on their missions. I am so proud of all of them even though it was hard for me to say goodbye to them. But luckily I have made new great friends up at Utah State. It was good for me to not have anymore friends at home because it made me stay in Logan and realize how much I was actually missing by going home every weekend.

All in all 2009 was a great year. There were many highlights of my year: going to the Temple to be sealed to my brother, a cute niece joining our family, finishing my first year of college and deciding to go back again, road trip to California with great friends, another great summer of lawn mowing and actually being able to control the beast of a lawn mower, my family finally buying a houseboat of our own, living with my cousins resulting in me getting to know them even better, and meeting my new best friends at school which then led to meeting Landon.
There were also many downfalls to the year but I won't mention those because who wants to remember the sad times? Not me!

I am excited for 2010 and I know it'll be an even better year! There will be many more highlights as well as downfalls.
Bring it on 2010!!

Christmas Weekend

Christmas this year was a very different one. Different, but still just as great. I knew everything that I was getting because I had picked it all out myself and it was an off year where my siblings, besides Tiff and Blake, went to their in-laws. So it was sad that there weren't any little kids running around all excited. I'm definitely not complaining though because since our family was small this year, Christmas morning didn't last too long which created the great opportunity for me to drive to Vernal to surprise Landon. It turned out to be a great success. He had absolutely no idea which is all thanks to his parents for keeping it secret! So then I spent a couple days in Vernal hanging out with him and his family. It created some firsts for me. First time driving 3 hours by myself (wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be and was pretty surprised my car made it that far!), first time snowmobiling (which I now have a love for and can't believe I've been missing out on something so fun all these years), and first time playing Cribbage and winning (which was pretty awesome. It sure taught those boys not to mess with us girls! Haha). So all in all I had a great fun weekend and was sad it had to end!

Now it's almost New Years and I'm very sad because it's the first year my family isn't doing anything! The Hansen family has just gotten too big so we can't find a place big enough to fit everyone. If only my Uncle's business partner would stop being dumb and let us use the bowling alley without having to pay him! It's the perfect place to celebrate New Years! But until then, no more New Years parties for the Hansen family.
I don't know what I'm going to do!

I'm Home!

Winter break is finally here! After a busy couple of weeks and then one week of intense studying for finals, the semester is finally over and I couldn't be more relieved. I am now back at home with my family and I couldn't be happier. The only thing I'll have to deal with is that I'll now become a slave for my mom. Ok, so I'm just going to work for her to earn money for school since apparently I'm only an average worker at the Post Office and they just don't seem to want me to work for them. So bitter. (For those that may not know, I worked at the Post Office last year and though I hated every minute of it, it paid great money so I applied again this year only to find out I'm average instead of excellent so they won't hire me again. Soooo lame!) But I guess I shouldn't complain because I'll actually get to spend time with my family this holiday season. Lots of parties that I'll be able to go to that I wasn't able to go to last year. So this winter break should be a good one and I'm so stoked! I just love this time of the year!!
