Thanksgiving Break

I have had a really good break. It was definitely something I needed. It even started earlier than I planned because of the "blizzard". I had planned to go home Wednesday but the "huge blizzard" that was to come resorted in campus closing Tuesday which therefore cancelled my class that day making it so that I could head home before any storm started.
Now all I have to say is Utah definitely knows how to overreact..

So I got home Tuesday and mostly just sat around all day. I had to do a lot of reading to take a test online for one of my classes, but that's about all I did.

Wednesday I did more sitting around being lazy. Christal and I watched a lot of TV while I let her curl my hair. I then went and spent the night hanging out at my brother Nate's. They headed to Seattle for Thanksgiving so I went to play with them before they left. So I had fun playing with them. Gracie actually wanted to snuggle with me too! She's the cutest thing.

Thursday- the day of Thanks. I thought about doing that typical Thanksgiving post that everyone seems to do.. but I decided against it. Mostly because I didn't get on my computer. But my Thanksgiving was wonderful. My dad and I sat down and watched an old BYU vs Utah game from 4 years ago. It was on TV and it's sad to say that I still got super into it and at times I was stressed even though I already knew the outcome.. That just tells you how much I love BYU football. I'll get back to that topic later though when I talk about the game that went on on Saturday..
We weren't able to finish watching the game because it was time to go to the church for lunch, so we made sure we recorded it since the ending of that game is the best ever.

Pretty sure the next day we watched this ending like 100 times and it still gave me chills!

So anyways, we went to the church for lunch, which I've got to say was weird. I don't remember ever having Thanksgiving lunch/dinner at a church. The funniest part about it is that we had at first cancelled having Hansen Thanksgiving because our family is getting too big, so when we decided to do it this year and have it at a church, most people couldn't come so there really wasn't a need for a church.. But I gotta say I loved that we decided to have it anyways. It was so good to be with my cousins :)
We had a good time together stuffing our faces and then napping afterwards..

We really might have been able to sleep if people would've stopped taking pictures of us..

After we all ate and visited for a while, we cleaned up and headed home. I hung out with my mediate family at home for a while and we watched How to Train Your Dragon. If you haven't seen that movie- go see it! I love it! And you just might want a pet dragon when you finish.. anyways, it was fun to hang out with them before a night of misery started..

Ok, so misery might be a little too over the top to describe my Black Friday experience. It started out fun but definitely ended in me not enjoying life and just wanting sleep. So I let my friends talk me into going shopping with them. I thought it might be fun and had my past black friday experiences in mind and didn't think it would be that bad.. I guess it all comes down to me not believing them when they said they were shopping all night long.. So it started at 9pm at Fashion Place and ended when I got home at 7am. So you can imagine my misery after 10 hours of shopping when I don't even like one hour! No, it wasn't all that bad until about 4:30 when I really decided I was done and tried sleeping in the car while everyone else continued to shop.

We got our faces painted before leaving Fashion Place. That might have been the highlight of my night.. haha

So after getting home at 7 in the morning, I pretty much slept all day Friday. I woke up and showered and when I went upstairs, my mom started talking about getting ready for the missionaries to come over for dinner. That was weird. Who wants to think of dinner only a couple hours after waking up? haha so the missionaries came over for dinner and I was my awkward self again. I just feel like I can't talk to missionaries since they are my age. So it was a long two hours. After dinner I went out hung out with my old friends from Olympus. We went and saw the lights at Temple Square which is always a good time. It was super cold though so we didn't last long. Just enough time to make the rounds and then head home to enjoy some hot chocolate and just hang out like the good ol' days.

Sooo Saturday.. what a depressing day.. ugh. I went over to my cousin's house to watch the big game since we don't have cable at my house. It was a big family get together and the first of the game was fairly boring. Then it got intense and retarded. A horrible call by dumb refs plus terrible playing on BYU's part at the very end lead to Utah winning by one point! I just have to point out that BYU out played Utah the entire game and Utah got lucky. And that's all I'm going to say about this game because I've already done enough arguing haha

Today (Sunday) was my cousin Stacey's farewell. I can't believe she is really going. It's going to be crazy with her gone for a year and a half! But it is going to be very good for her :)

And now I should be back in Logan.. but it's snowing. It's been snowing ALL day. So I've decided to try driving in the morning when maybe it'll clear up.
Normally I'd say I love lots of snow like this, but not when I have a trip back to Logan I have to make..
I don't like planning my life around the weather.

I'm not an HP nerd.. :)

Sooo I was searching for new backgrounds now that winter is here and I found this gem. I was going for a Christmas looking one or just winter/snowy theme but I guess Harry Potter works too :) I quite enjoy it. The only thing that really bugs me is that you can't even see Harry. It depends on how big your screen is.. but you get the gist of it either way.

Random list of whatever..

* Harry Potter 7 movie was actually really good. I was very pleased with it. I just hate that I have to wait till July to see the ending.

* It's great to come home and hang out with my sister Tiff and baby Q. Doesn't make me excited at all to have a baby of my own..
(and just in case anyone didn't realize, that comment was sarcastic)

* I love BYU football. Sorry fellow USU students- I can't help it.

* Seeing old friends get home from their mission really makes me miss the old days. And just makes me want the rest to get home right now.

* Blizzard warning in Utah that actually cancelled school was amazing and I didn't think it was even possible. But it allowed me to come home earlier than expected even though once the blizzard hit, it was pathetic.

* Being home for Thanksgiving is wonderful. I need this nice break from school before the stress of finals begin.

* I will be having Thanksgiving with my mom's side of the family which I am stoked for since we had originally decided to cancel Hansen Thanksgiving due to the large growth of everyone's families.

* I haven't seen baby Brigham since the hospital so I'm excited to see him some time this week.

* Tangled comes out tomorrow and I'm excited to see that. Rylee and I planned to see it before I went home but once class was cancelled, I made a quick departure from Logan to beat the storm- which did I mention was pathetic?

* I have a couple guy friends trying to talk me into participating in Black Friday with them. Shouldn't that be the other way around..?

* I don't like shopping. Therefore Christmas shopping is hard and always creates stress for me. I'd maybe be able to enjoy it a little if I had ideas of what to get people and actually had the money to buy those things..

* Christmas music should not be listened to until after Thanksgiving.

* I've realized I tend to want what I can't have. And it sucks.

* So much drama can come from the tiniest thing that people just blow out of proportion and make a bigger deal than it is.

* Being a people pleaser is not always a good thing.

* This is my 100th post. I'm amazed I have found that many things to write about.

Quidditch? Sign me up!

This is just too good that I can't pass up the opportunity to share it.
And yes- it is extremely nerdy so I warn you now..

Please click HERE and watch the video before proceeding to read the rest of this post. Failure to do so will result in utter confusion.

My sister was so wonderful in sending this gem to me today. It definitely made my day so much better. I can't stop laughing. And I can't figure out if I'm laughing because it's such a great idea or it really is pathetic that someone actually came up with a way to play it.
Maybe I'm just jealous I didn't think of it first..
haha but seriously- you can't tell me you watched that video and didn't find any joy from it. Whether that joy was from excitement or from making fun of it, it doesn't matter, it was still joy.
My favorite part is the snitch. I love that they have someone just run around. I also love their brooms that they just hold between their legs. What I don't get is why they don't actually look like brooms. You'd think they'd want to have them look like brooms to make the game seem more real.. Oh well. I still love the whole idea. And you better believe I will be attempting to play this game in the near future.

Anyone want to join me? :)

Slowly losing my mind..

The past couple of weeks have been a little hard for me. I've been really stressed with school and have so many things on my mind that I'm going crazy. I feel like I can't even write this post because my mind has too much to think about that I can't focus on any one thing.
Pathetic I know.
I have been sick too which always makes matters worse.
So in other words, I just haven't been myself and I hate it.
The good news is that I only have to survive until Thursday and then I can finally relax a little, gain some sanity, and have some fun. And that fun definitely starts with Harry Potter!! You better believe I am going to see the movie at midnight fully dressed up in my Hogwarts attire :) and then I get to spend the weekend at home! I can't believe I have actually stayed in Logan for two weekends in a row! I'm sure excited to see my family- especially my nieces and nephews..

(thanks to Chantell for this picture that I stole from Facebook)

Wouldn't you miss them too?
:)

HvZ

Well guys, I survived being a human up until the last second. I went the whole week avoiding the big parts of campus and made it to all of my classes safe and sound. I attended some missions and survived those too. At least until the final one..
Yes. I died. Right before entering the last safe zone..
There I was. A couple feet away. And out of nowhere a zombie appeared and caught a hold of me. There was nothing I could do. I started undergoing a weird change. I was all of a sudden hungry. Hungry for human flesh..
Haha ok- don't judge- I'm really not that nerdy. The game actually turned out to be lame. I was disappointed with it. It started out fun and entertaining, but when people lie and cheat and become violent, it's not worth playing. I guess they didn't understand that it was just a game and thought it was real or something. It wasn't organized very well either so it was all just a big let down.
My friends and I have decided we will play our own little games of HvZ. We figured it'd be a lot more fun playing with people we know won't be idiots about things. Maybe that will make up for the disaster the campus one turned out to be.

Halloween!

I love Halloween. It has always been one of my favorite holidays. I just love dressing up in fun costumes, watching scary movies, going to haunted houses and corn mazes, seeing all the cute little kids in their costumes, carving pumpkins, and eating lots of candy!
This year, I will have to sadly admit that it was not the best. Of course when I wanted this year to top last year, it doesn't. Oh well.
I started my Halloween Friday night when I went home. There was a Ukraine party at my house (for the Save a Child Foundation which is the reason I have my adopted brother Austin). So I hung out with family for a bit at that party- got some free food and went through the haunted barn attic. Then my friend Chase invited me to go to the LDS Frat party. I invited Christal to come along since I wanted to hang out with her and her friends were being lame. So we got mine and Rylee's costumes and Chase came to pick us up.

We went to Cheri's to get her and then all of a sudden she changed the plan on us and we ended up at Hallo-funka-ween instead. Yeah don't worry- it was just a big slutty dance party that we had to pay $10 to get in. It wasn't too bad at the beginning since we got there right when it started so we had some fun dancing by ourselves, but once it got crowded, that's when the sluts started showin up and all the perverted guys that just want to get all up on you. I hate when dances get this way and it made it even worse when I invite and expose my 15 year old sister to them! Don't worry though, I took initiative and called the greatest friend ever (Michael) to come pick us up after it got too much to handle. So we left and after I apologized a million times to Christal, we just went to bed.

Saturday came around and I had to mow lawns for the last time! Thank goodness! Now maybe I'll actually get to stay in Logan for a full weekend..? haha but I spent most of the day hanging out with my fam until Chase and Stacey were ready to head up to Logan for the Howl.
We got to Logan and stopped for dinner and ice cream before we headed to Rylee's apartment. Once there, we sat around forever waiting for everyone to get ready. Grease was on TV which was fun to watch. I used to love that movie when I was younger. Anyways, finally at 10 everyone was ready to go so we headed up to campus and found out that there was the craziest line. We ended up waiting in line for two hours only to be inside for an hour! Yeah- definitely NOT worth it. I was reminded again why I had refused to go last year. I don't know why I let my friends convince me that it might be fun this year.. it wasn't. I'm not a fan of the big gross sweaty dance parties. I love to dance but not when all you can do is jump up and down because there are too many people surrounding you. I don't know why we call it a dance. I'd rather dance like they do on Grease! That's at least fun and you're not worried about nasty guys thinking they can grind up on you. So yeah, the Howl=sucky Halloween activity. Once it was over, we all just came back home and sat around forever doing nothing but watching infomercials.. yeah don't ask me why no one changed the channel.. and then finally at 3 I went to bed.

Can you see why this Halloween kinda sucked?

(Don't get me wrong- I did have fun with the people I was with. And I did have fun dressing up as Hermione. I can't believe it has taken me this long to be someone from HP!)

Then on Sunday, actual Halloween, it didn't get better. Mostly just because it's Sunday and you can't really do too much partying. I actually forgot it was Halloween. I did watch a scary TV show though. Ok, so it wasn't actually scary, but disturbing. Anyone heard of the show Sister Wives? If you haven't- it's about a polygamist family. Yeah I don't get how women can actually allow their husband to marry another woman and be ok with it.

But that was my Halloween weekend. Definitely not what I wanted it to be. But I guess it is somewhat continuing on because of a Humans vs. Zombie game I am playing this week on campus. Brief explanation: there were about 800 humans and 1 zombie to start the week off. We all have bandannas, humans wear them on their arm or leg and zombies wear them on their head. Humans can stun a zombie with sock balls and nerf darts. Yes I agree it is pretty nerdy, but you have to admit it sounds awesome right?

I survived day 1. Guess we'll see what tomorrow brings with now up to almost 100 zombies.. yikes!

Wish me luck! haha
:)

Oh, and in case anyone was wondering- I still hate the Post Office with a passion.
